6 Reasons to Buy the Bodylastics Terrell Owens Resistance Bands

We all know Terrell Owens is known for causing a considerable amount of ruckus on and off the field of football.  But in the circuit of body development you can’t help but be amazed at his overall muscle development.  There is usually a cause for uncertainty when it comes to professional endorsement but the Bodylastics Terrell Owens Resistance Bands could have had Barack Obama endorsing them and I would have bought them.  It wasn’t totally the endorsement that made me buy these exercise bands it was actually the history behind elastic workouts.

I was so close in purchasing the Soloflex system years ago but could not afford it.  And yes, the athletic model’s performing the exercises more than likely got their chiseled bodies from a combination of genetics, aerobics, free weights, and some resistance band workouts.  But when you seen the models perform the exercise you could see the specific muscles getting a workout and from that point on I was sold on using fitness tubing to transform my body.

For users or those who are on the fence about purchasing the Bodylastics Terrell Owens Resistance Bands, I will list my Top 6 reasons why you should purchase this system.

1.  It’s Portable and lightweight. The Bodylastics system comes with a carrying case where you can simply insert the strength bands and its attachments in one haul.  The total weight for this system is no more than 4 lbs.
2.  It’s very Inexpensive. The price ranges from $45.95 for the Basic Tension set to $104.81 for the TO Super Strong Man Edition.  Compare that to a gym membership or a soloflex system and you’ll recognize the savings without having to break out you trusty calculator.
3.  It saves space. Imagine having a bench, a squat rack and some dumb bells in your bedroom, enough said.
4.  They are Safe. With respect to Stafon Johnson of the USC Trojans, I don’t have to go into detail on the horrific bench pressing accident that happened.  With resistance band exercises there is no need for a spotter and the elastic cords are durable and won’t break.
5. You get a fast and complete Workout. With resistance band exercises you can perform over 140 unique gym exercises, targeting specific body parts with different amounts of tension without having to change out plates.
6.  6-week Visible Guarantee. Bodylastics says in their Terms of Services that if you follow the suggested program routines and frequency for 6 weeks – they will guarantee that someone you know will confirm your progress. So if after 6 weeks someone you know does not notice that you are looking different then you can send the exercise bands back for a refund of the purchase price.

Those are my Top 6 reasons, but for others there could be considerable amount more benefits and advantages of purchasing the Bodylastics Terrell Owens Resistance Bands system.

Principles of resistance tubing and free weights

The principal object of  a weight resistance exercise training device which is intended for for shaping, toning, tightening and sculpting the muscles. Elastic resistance is a unique type of resistance training compared more closely to isotonic or isokinetic resistances. The resistance provided by elastic bands or resistance tubing is based on the amount that the band or tubing is stretched.   Technically resistance can be measured in pounds of force depending on the percentage the band or tubing is stretched from its resting length; this is known as “force-elongation”. Regardless of how long the band or tubing is before it’s stretched, the force produced at its stretched length depends on the percent elongation.

Free weights is how weight lifting began. It’s made up of dumbbells and barbells. It is the most simple concept, when using free weights you are stabilizing the weight, which will force you to use other little muscles that you didn’t know you were using. Free weights also give you a more comprehensive training because many stabilizer muscles are involved.

Both elastic resistance and free-weight resistance (such as barbells and dumbbells) have several similar properties: a) both provide some form of resistance, b) both allow a free range of motion, c) both allow variable speed of movement, and d) both allow progressive resistance. All four of these properties are critical for the benefits offered by effective resistance-training programs.

Despite the similarities between elastic resistance and free-weight resistance, people would assume, due to the lightweight and “flimsy appearance of elastic resistance equipment such as elastic resistance tubing, that free weights are clearly the better resistance equipment. However, studies have shown that muscle activity and peak load during elastic-resistance exercise is similar to free-weight resistance exercise. This means that when comparing the same exercise performed with an elastic resistance device or with free weights, the amount of muscle fibers activated is similar and the amount of force provided by the muscle fibers is similar.

Studies on elastic resistance training have also shown that programs using elastic tubing, elastic bands and similar devices increase muscle strength and muscle size and decrease body fat in a similar manner to free-weight training programs.
